Shinheung Jugong Housing Reconstruction Project_Sanseong Station FORESTIA The Sanseong Station FORESTIA housing reconstruction project is a large-scale development intended to serve as a key starting point for the regeneration of Seongnam’s old downtown area by integrating the former Sinheung Jugong Apartments and Tongbo 8th Apartment Complex. Planned at a total scale of 4,089 housing units, the project takes advantage of the urban accessibility provided by its adjacency to Sanseong Station on Subway Line 8, while naturally drawing the surrounding environment of Namhansanseong[V1.1] and Yeongjangsan[V2.1] into the residential space to create a pleasant living environment where forests
and daily life are connected

Through this reconstruction project, Sanseong Station FORESTIA set its goal not as creating an entirely new residential space, but as realizing a living environment that maintains continuity between the past, present, and future. By creating forests connected to Yeongjangsan and restoring a small stream, a continuous natural environment was established, while a community street was planned at the same location as the existing village community facilities to realize continuity in daily life.
Despite being a high-density redevelopment project, visual openness was secured through the large-scale central community street and building layouts that consider view corridors, and the continuous cluster courtyards between buildings were planned as Scene Gardens, providing refined spaces for relaxation within the city. In addition, to overcome the limitations of high-density reconstruction, a design code emphasizing restrained aesthetics with minimal articulation was applied to the building forms.
