He joined the company in 1991 and for 30 years, he has been carrying out many projects of office, research & science facilities and advanced industrial facilities such as ‘SECL Global Engineering Center’, ‘Samsung Life Beijing Office’, ‘Samsung Pyeongtaek Plant’ and ‘Hankook Technodome’. Apart from architectural design, he has also worked in fields such as marketing and management, and has held positions such as High-tech and Architectural Design Business Manager, leading the company’s stable growth based on broad knowledge and experience across the entire management. As a licensed architect with over 25 years of professional experience,
Simon S. Kim has led a wide range of corporate, institutional, mission-critical, and healthcare/life science projects.
His major works include Woori Bank Sangam Center, Hana Square and Centennial Hall at Korea University,
Sure-Jiran Headquarters, Samsung Display Research Center, Samsung Life Insurance Seosomun Building,
Kakao IDC, Equinix IDC, Songdo Severance Hospital, and the Sampyo Mixed-Use Development, among others.
As Senior Principal leading the Architectural Design Division, he currently leads diverse design projects,
successfully addressing the complex and often competing interests of clients.
In 2014, Mr. Kim served as Head of the New York Studio, where he successfully delivered several challenging projects,
including the Qatar Hotel Design Competition and the New York Korean Mission to the United Nations,
while leading architects from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds.
Mr. Kim has extensive experience working with international clients.
His global portfolio includes projects for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait, the University of Rwanda,
the Ministries of Information Technology of Pakistan and Myanmar, and Lam Research.

Eui Suk Lee received bachelor of Architecture from Inha University.
After he joined SAMOO, Mr. Lee has over 20 years of design experience regarding the industrial plant field.

Donghoon Kim is an Executive Vice President at SAMOO, leading the Future Business
Division and overseeing tech-based growth initiatives, including FIT Solutions,
modular construction, value-add businesses, and strategic investments.
He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Hongik University and a Master’s degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT),
where he conducted research on supertall buildings.
After professional experience at architectural firms in Chicago, he joined SAMOO in 2003.
A smart building specialist, he has led numerous office projects and served in key leadership roles,
including Head of the Sustainable Design Team, Head of Corporate Planning,
Director of the Architectural Design Division, and Head of Strategic Business.
He has also contributed to overseas business strategy development through global project experience.
Engineering Division
Ji Taek Shim received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Architecture from Hongik University.
He has been working for SAMOO for 30 years and has been carrying out projects of cultural space, offices, commercial
and high-end residential facility. His representative works include Jeju Shilla Duty Free Shop, Seocho SAMSUNG Town,
and Leeum SAMSUNG Museum of Art and by collaborating with various experts such as traditional Korean housing experts, installation artists, etc., he has completed high-end residences and renovation projects.
With the experiences obtained through remodeling designing of various facilities, he has been providing consulting services in multiple areas to customers and aims to implement customers’ pursuits into accomplished designs.

HyungJoon Lim has worked at Samsung C&T Corporation for 20 years,
gaining a wide range of experience including finance and business management.
Based on this experience,
he focuses on specifying and implementing management strategies in response to the changing business environment,
laying the foundation for development as a global architecture group.

Executive Director Kang JiYoon studied Architecture and Fine Arts at the Rhode Island School of Design in the United States.
With over 20 years at SAMOO, she has carried out design and planning for a wide range of projects.
Based on her experience in human resources, overseas sales, and sales planning,
she works from an integrated perspective grounded in a strong understanding of organizational operations and business.

YoungChul Shin graduated from Korea University with a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering in 1998 and a master’s degree in 2004. He joined SAMOO in the same year and has since contributed to a wide range of projects, including ‘Gachon University Gachon Hall,’ ‘Seongnam City Hall,’ ‘Daegu Samsung Creative Campus,’ ‘Bank of Korea Gyeonggi Headquarters,’ and ‘Bank of Korea Gangnam Headquarters.’ His expertise lies particularly in the design of public office facilities and advanced research centers. Beyond architectural design, he has acquired extensive experience in management planning and human resources, enhancing his expertise in business planning. SangDon Park graduated from Seoul National University with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in architecture. He then joined SAMOO where he worked on various tasks including architectural design and technology research.
He participated in various projects such as Korea National University of Arts, Samsung Hoam Hall renovation, Korea Job World, L&B Tower, KBS Jeonju Broadcasting Station, and Yonsei Business Building to gain design expertise and contribute to the competitiveness of design ENG by establishing design standardization and design guidelines.
He is passionate about creating futuristic smart living spaces that accommodate various lifestyles, while also focusing on urban regeneration projects that promote harmony among humans, cities, and nature.

SuYong Park is an expert in industrial plant design. Since joining SAMOO, he has specialized in high-tech FAB design, with a focus on electrical systems and system engineering for semiconductor, display, and battery facilities, as well as ultra-high pressure voltage design. With his extensive experience, he has overseen major projects at Samsung’s Pyeongtaek Industrial Complex and Taylor in the United States. Currently serving as the Head of Advanced Technology Department 1, he is dedicated to providing world-class service to clients. His key projects include Samsung Electronics’ Giheung System LSI, Hwaseong Lines 10, 11, 12, 13, and 17, Pyeongtaek Lines P2 and P3, EUV Line, Samsung Austin Semiconductor (SAS), and Taylor Line T1 in the U.S.

SeoungSu Lee is a high-tech design specialist who first joined a specialized industrial facility company in 2000,
where he learned the basics of design practice, and joined SAMOO in 2006,
where he has specialized in high-tech design for about 20 years. Especially in the case of semiconductor FAB,
he has the expertise and ability to provide high-quality designs and win the client’s trust based on the experience
of carrying out numerous designs from planning to construction completion. Major achievements include master planning,
FAB and subsidiary facility design for Samsung Semiconductor’s domestic
(Line 15, 16 and 17 in Hwaseong, Line P4 and P5 in Pyeongtaek, Line S in Cheonan)
and overseas (Line B and E in Suzhou, and Line X1 and X2 in Xi’an) complexes.

Executive Director Kim MinYoung graduated from Sungkyunkwan University with a degree in Architectural Engineering and
has over 20 years of experience at SAMOO, specializing in the high-tech sector.
His expertise spans master planning, cleanroom manufacturing, utilities, and advanced R&D facilities, with recent expansion into bio,
mobility, and future energy production projects across the industrial plant sector.
U.S. Business Development
YoungBum Yoo graduated from Inha University with a bachelor’s degree in architecture in 2000. Since joining SAMOO, he has primarily worked on semiconductor plants for Samsung Electronics, as well as a range of projects including data centers, research laboratories, and apartment-type factories. He has played a pivotal role in developing and completing new projects from master planning to final construction for semiconductor industrial complexes, including Xi’an in China, Pyeongtaek in Korea, and Taylor in the United States. Recognized as an expert in international collaborations with local design firms, he has contributed to projects, including Xi’an Line X1, Pyeongtaek Lines P1 to P3, and Taylor Line T1 . He is committed to advancing cleanroom facilities through innovative technologies that reduce costs and enhance production efficiency, avoiding conventional methods with each project.

WooSung Choi is the Head of Business Development, leading initiatives in real estate development, spatial planning consultancy, and senior-focused business innovation.
He holds a Master’s in Architecture from Columbia University and an MBA from Korea University. Since joining SAMOO in 2005, he has developed extensive knowledge and a professional network through roles in architectural design, global marketing, and business management.
Leveraging his expertise and insights, he has successfully led key divisions such as Business Strategy and New Biz Acceleration. In 2024, he led the Seongsu PoC (Proof of Concept) project, driving SAMOO’s expansion into value-added real estate development.
Engineering Consulting
Myung Kyu Song is an expert in utility design for high-tech industrial facilities.
In 1996, he joined the Samsung Group and participated in the design and construction of domestic and overseas industrial plants.
Ever since he joined Samoo Architects & Engineers in 2005, he has been in charge of FAB utility processes,
such as semiconductors and batteries, and piping design.
In particular, when he was in charge of Samsung Semiconductor FAB, he consistently gained trust
from the client based on the know-how that he obtained from many design experiences of executing the entire process
from planning to completion. Major achievements include Samsung Semiconductor Lines 15, 16, and 17, Pyeongtaek Plant,
Samsung SDI Gachon Battery Plant, and ExxonMobil Gumi BSF Factory.
Based on this experience, beginning in 2025, she has served as Head of the Engineering (ENG) Team in architectural design,
strengthening leadership in the ENG discipline to differentiate the firm from its competitors, while actively promoting the digital transformation of design processes and QA/QC operations.
Solution Biz
He graduated from Hongik University with a bachelor’s degree in architecture and is in charge of SAMOO’s Sustainable Design division.
Beginning with the Samsung Green Tomorrow (Zero Energy House),
for which it received LEED Platinum certification for the first time in East Asia, he has established expertise in various fields,
including sustainable design technology and energy reduction in buildings.
He carried out projects that combined architectural design with sustainable design technologies, such as the Korea Energy Agency’s New Office Building in Ulsan, the Advanced Eco Energy R&D Center, the Magnolia Zero Energy House in Thailand, and Naver 1784.
As a result, he received honors including the Korean Architecture Awards and the BCI Green Design Awards.
He has conducted research on various building performances such as building energy, CFD, stack effect reduction methods,
and double skin, as well as offering consultation on related subjects.
He holds certificates in the field of sustainable design including LEED AP and Certified Passive House Designer,
and he oversees a wide range of domestic and international certification tasks in the field of sustainable design.
As an expert in sustainable design technology at SAMOO, he seeks to expand the business into new fields based on sustainable
design technology, enhancing the capabilities related to carbon neutrality in buildings, and presenting a vision for future architecture based on it.
Health, Safety and Environment
Executive Director Kang KyungTae oversees safety management at SAMOO, focusing on modular projects as a new business area.
He holds a master’s degree in Architectural Environment from Seoul National University and has 26 years of experience at Samsung C&T,
supporting major high-rise and curtain wall projects such as Burj Khalifa and DDP, and now leads company-wide zero-accident safety systems.
CAIO
Hyoseung Nam served at Samsung C&T for 23 years, where he was responsible for designing the main span of the Incheon Bridge.
He developed a business model for the mining new business sector, identified new clients and projects,
and successfully secured and executed the Roy Hill Project in Australia (AU$ 5.9 billion).
As a leader/Vice President in charge of overseas civil engineering sales, bidding, and estimation,
he successfully bid for and won numerous projects across Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, UAE, and KSA.
Additionally, through two years of experience as CIO, he modernized the IT infrastructure using the latest cloud technologies
and contributed to the successful establishment of the Samsung Group’s first cloud-based ERP system.
He earned his Master's and Ph.D. ABD from the Department of Civil Engineering at Seoul
National University and currently lectures as a visiting professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
As the CAIO, he contributes to management innovation by AI transforming the processes and data that form the core of SAMOO's technical capabilities.
Information Security Center
SeongWon Joo, currently serving as the Head of Information Security Center, received his bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering from Yonsei University and a master’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from KAIST.
He has 25 years of diverse experience in security roles, including developing security products at a security startup, overseeing IT security at SDS during his assignment to the electronic headquarters, managing general security operations as an Expat Security Officer at a data center in New Jersey, USA, conducting IT infrastructure security inspections and consulting for Samsung affiliates at the Integrated Security Center, and handling privacy protection, among other duties.
