SAMSUNG Biologics Plants & Lab is the production facility and offices for SAMSUNG Group’s future growth engine, the bio-pharmaceutical business. A rational and efficient masterplan was proposed. Utilizing the traditional Korean wooden architectural concept of ‘match and set’, the large massing is articulated, therefore minimizing the impact of its size.

Completion
As a full-fledged start-up in the emerging bio-industry, the biopharmaceutical project will be another success for Samsung in Songdo, Incheon, which is the center of global business. The five-phase development master plan covering 270,000 square meters has led to Plant 1 with a capacity of 30,000 liters and Plant 2 with a capacity of 1,500 liters. The company will have the world’s largest production capacity at the completion of Plant 3 of 180,000 liters. The SAMSUNG Biologics constantly challenges to pioneer new areas in the healthcare field, leading the global standard of bio industry with world-class productivity and quality, raising the quality of human life.
