Space Information
A nature-friendly village was planned through building placement that considers the surrounding environment and topography, as well as view corridors, orientation, and landscape axes that allow natural scenery to permeate the site. Local identity was reinforced through vegetation planning based on native tree species. Materials and finishes reflecting Jeju’s distinctive character were incorporated. By reinterpreting the spatial structure of traditional villages and creating exterior spaces with regional cultural themes, the project was planned as a cultural village infused with local heritage. Streets designed for meeting neighbors and engaging with nature, along with pedestrian paths that allow residents to enjoy scenery while walking, create an emotional village that facilitates interaction with the local community.
In particular, the facade design, “New Heritage Village,” modernly reinterprets Jeju’s traditional stone houses. The site layout secured over 30% openness toward the main road, creating an open complex structure. The village’s main axis and the olle trail, inspired by the spatial concept of "angil (a long corridor or passage that leads to the entrance)" in traditional Korean architecture, were established to lead residents toward their homes. Additional features include a high ceiling height of 2.6 meters and a generous parking capacity of 1.92 spaces per household.
